PAINTING AND ARCHITECTURE
VISION AND FORM

AN ARTIST AND ARCHITECT WITH AN INNOVATIVE VISION

Born in 1965 in Bern, Switzerland, Albino Vescovi embarked on his artistic journey in the early eighties, standing out from the beginning for his passion for painting. Moving to Italy, the land of his family's origins, marked a fundamental formative period: in Parma, at the "Paolo Toschi" Art Institute, he refined his talent, graduating in 1986 and continuing with studies in architecture that culminated in a degree from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1994.

BEGINNINGS AND ARTISTIC INFLUENCES

Vescovi's formative years were characterized by travels to European art cities, during which he developed a deep admiration for artists such as William Turner, Antoni Tàpies, Jean Dubuffet, Paul Klee, and architects of the caliber of Marcel Breuer, Eero Saarinen, Gerrit Rietveld, and Louis Kahn. These influences became the foundation on which he would build his search for a unique and personal creative language.

COLLABORATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Vescovi's architectural career began with a collaboration with Haig Uluhogian's studio in Parma, before joining the illustrious Ettore Sottsass in Milan. It was from this synergy that a global vision of art emerged, where painting, design, architecture, and graphics intertwine in a constant and stimulating dialogue.

ARTISTIC EVOLUTION AND PICTORIAL NARRATION

After a journey of artistic correspondences, Vescovi channels his poetic research from the external analysis of the visible, through color, to a fantastic narration that emerges strongly in his recent works, characterized by a marked gestural expressiveness. His participation in the "Pittura Castellarquato" exhibition in 1997 testifies to his ability to converse with great painters in the artistic landscape.

ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

Parallel to his pictorial expression, in 1996 Vescovi founded his own architecture studio in Castell'Arquato, where he brings to life projects ranging from architecture to design. His work, rooted in a historical location, reflects the commitment of a creative who continues to live and work in the same community that saw him grow professionally.
